IN PHOTOS | The Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) through Agribusiness and Marketing Development Program (AMAD) conducted a Business Investment Forum for Corn and Cassava held recently in Dumaguete City.

Attended by corn and cassava farmers, agricultural extension workers from the local government units (LGUs), and buyers like the ACME Traders San Miguel Corporation and corn/cassava consolidators, the forum will help address the challenges and opportunities on trade and globalization , competition and constraints affecting the markets.

During the investment forum, Shyrra Lara, the OIC Chief of the Feed Analytical Laboratory discussed the basic feed formulation. The needed elements for the formulation must be present, as well as the exact measuremen of each element.

Graciano Balbon, a corn/cassava consolidator shared the demand of corn and cassava in the market. As a consolidator, they buy in volume at a minimum of 5 tons.

Milton John Kitane of the ACME Traders, said the demand of corn and cassava is high however the supply is limited. He encouraged the farmers to plant more corn and cassava, assuring them (farmers) of sure market for their produce.
