To streamline data collection and improve service delivery to the farmers, the Department of Agriculture- Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program in Central Visayas (DA-7 SAAD) conducted a Reorientation and Updating of Profiling Forms in Cebu City on February 4, 2025. Participants were SAAD staff, composed of Area Coordinators (AC) and Provincial Coordinators (PC) from Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor, as well as the Information Technology and Database Development (ITDD) Unit. DA7’s Field Operations Division (FOD) Chief Gerry S. Avila, emphasized the importance of conducting such activity, and said, “we recognize the importance of continuously improving our data-gathering processes in order to deliver better, more relevant assistance to the people we serve.” Randy Ocampo, the IT Unit Head from the SAAD National Program Management Office (NPMO) discussed on the SAAD profiling form, sharing suggestions and direction that will completely guide and engage the SAAD staff in the activity design processes, giving deeper comprehension and appreciation in the execution of the program’s activities. The updated profiling forms will incorporate new fields to better capture essential information related to agricultural activities, farm production, resource allocation, and socio-economic conditions of the beneficiaries. In observance of the RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012, the program ensured that all personnel in the field abide with the DPA, and to inform beneficiaries that data gathered will be used only by the SAAD Program, and will not be disclosed to the public. By refining these forms, the program seeks to provide more targeted support to individuals and communities, ensuring that interventions align with the specific needs of the local agricultural sector
