A stakeholders meeting and needs assessment workshop on the implementation of the Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES) was held recently in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
The Negros Oriental Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Center (NOAFEC) facilitated the workshop to solicit inputs from stakeholders, as well as obtain updates from the Department of Agriculture-7 (DA7) and its attached agencies, which geared to the crafting of the plans and projects for PAFES.
Presented were the Results of the Rapid Appraisal, Plans and Programs of Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and DA for the province.
The activity was attended by the Committee on Agriculture Chairman and concurrent NOAFEC Director BM Woodrow Maquiling, Committee on Agriculture Vice-Chair BM Julius Sabac, PAFES Regional Focal Person Dr. Leo Pelletero, BFAR Provincial Head Dr. Florencia Mepaña, NORSU VP-for Research and Extension Dr. Merivic Catada, and representatives from the Office of the Provincial Agriculture, Provincial Veterinary Office, ATI, PHILFIDA, NIA, PCA and PCIC.
