Agricultural Exten sion Workers (AEW) from the municipalities, cities as well as the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) of Negros Oriental (NegOr), who are implementing the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) attended the 1st quarter assessment today, May 9, 2024 at a venue in Dumaguete City, facilitated by the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas’ Provincial Agriculture Technology Coordinating Office (DA7-PATCO NegOr).

Gerry Avila, the chief of Field Operation Division (FOD), in his message, encouraged the HVCDP AEWs and technicians to let their farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) submit a Cluster Development Plan for possible funding support from the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP). The assistance of DA are through the FCAs, of which business plans and proposals must be submitted.

Among the topics presented include accomplishments for the first quarter, HVCDP major commodities situationer, Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) Implementation and the National Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP).

The meeting was attended by DA7 represented by APCO Alejandro E. Rafal and province-based HVCDP Focal MaryRonville Aba; Philipine Crop Insurance Corp. (PCIC) PEO Junriel Aba, Philippine Statistice Authority (PSA) Cynthia Pohanes, Provincial HVCDP Coordinator Janel Trasmonted and PAO staff.
