IN PHOTOS | The Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) took part in the Moving Forward Ceremony of the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan on Sustainable Agriculture Program (KSK-SAP) of SM Foundation, Inc. today, April 19, 2024 held at SM Seaside City Cebu.

Prior to the program proper, a supermarket tour at the Vegetables and Fruits Section was conducted, with the 48 graduates and SM staffs.

Two batches of graduates, Batch 283 and 291, from Brgy. Carreta and Mambaling, Cebu City presented their Business Proposal entitled “Greenscape Haven: Cultivating Urban Greenery Together” and “People’s Farm: Sustainable Agriculture in Action”.

Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations Wilberto O. Castillo delivered his response of support to the graduates. He commended the business projects that were proposed. He also reiterated the consistent support of the agency to our farmers.

“The Department of Agriculture will always be your partner, hand in hand with the other agencies. We have different programs that are relevant to the mission of this project such as High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) and National Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP). Rest assured nga naa mi sa inyong kiliran to support on your journey.”, he said.

The KSK-SAP is a program of the SM Foundation, Inc. in collaboration with the various agencies such as Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) which aims to strengthen peri-urban and urban activities and offer opportunities for income and marketing.
