IN PHOTOS | Top management of the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) visited three project sites implemented by the Special Area for Agriculture Development (SAAD) today, April 26, 2025, as part of the management’s engaging activities of going down the grassroots for them to be immersed and to gather first-hand information from the SAAD beneficiaries.
DA7 Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez led the farm visitation, together with Regional Technical Director Wilberto O. Castillo and the division chiefs from the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PMED), Field Operation (FOD), Regional Agricultural Engineering (RAED), Regulatory, Integrated Laboratory (ILD), and Research.
First SAAD site visited was the vegetable project in San Antonio, Boljoon, of which Director Enriquez was able to interact and interview the SAAD beneficiaries, who are members of the San Antonio Farmers Association.
The second site was the beneficiaries of the cattle fattening project, which was managed by a group of women, the Nangka Women Rural Workers Association, also in Boljoon.
The third site was the Nug-as Active Workers Association of Nug-as, Alcoy, also beneficiaries of cattle project.
As interviewed, they expressed their gratitude to DA for the projects, as they all said “daku og tabang ang proyekto sa amoang panginabuhian (the projects were of big help in their livelihood).
When ask “if they want the SAAD project to continue, all three associations said “yes”.
There was a quick stop-over to the Nug-as Market (bagsakan area) to look into the marketing scenario of farm produce delivered by the farmers in the said market.
