Staff of the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) who are implementing the Adaptation and Mitigation Initiatives in Agriculture (AMIA) program (AMIA) underwent a training of trainers (TOT) on Farm Record Keeping, held in Tagbilaran City.
Equipped with practical knowledge on simple farm record-keeping, the AMIA staff will be able to cascade to the various AMIA villages in the region.
DA7 Regional Technical Director for Operations, Cirilo N. Namoc, emphasized the importance of farm records, and with clear plans and reliable data, it will lead to better outcomes. Data collected should be both realistic and dependable.
Dr. Maria Wencisa B. Egama, the resource person, discussed topics to include the Importance and uses of farm records and accounts, qualities of a good record-keeping system, key data to be recorded, recording income and expenses, basic financial terms every farmer should know, tracking farm assets and liabilities, farm inventory management, managing farm debts and loans; and creating and managing simple farm plan and budget.
