Personnel of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB)- Department of Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship and the Agricultural Systems Institute paid a courtesy visit to Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez, today, March 14, 2025, informing her of the study they will conduct which is funded by the DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research, entitled “Market Assessment of Organic Products: Towards Scaling-Up Organic Agriculture in the Philippines.”
In the study, they will conduct data validation in Cebu on the current market situation of the suppliers, sellers, and consumers of organic produce and products along the food system to serve as basis for scaling up organic agriculture in the country.
On the data validation, they will need respondents to include four (4) farmer cooperatives and associations (FCA) who are organic agriculture (OA) practitioners in the City of Naga and Argao, three (3) sellers, three (3) consumers, and the participation of the local and Regional Organic Agriculture Program Focal or staff.
