Enriquez, together with the thirteen delegations of the region attended the Orientation/Reorientation Assessment and Workshop on the Farmers and Fisherfolk Enterprise Development Program (SAGIP SAKA) held at a venue in Aklan from April 7-11, 2025.
The 13 participants of the SAGIP SAKA workshop were from the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PMED), Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), Regulatory Division, Field Operations Division (FOD) from the banner programs on rice, corn, high value and NUPAP, livestock and F2C2, as well as for HALAL and the Gender and Development (GAD), together also from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources -7 (BFAR7).
SAGIP SAKA or Republic Act 11321, is an act instituting the farmers and fisherfolk enterprise development program of the Department of Agriculture, which was signed in April 2019 with the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) taking effect in October 2019, aimed to strengthen the farmers and fisherfolk enterprise development program by establishing a comprehensive set of objectives, targets, and holistic approach in promoting the establishment of enterprises involving agricultural and fishery products. It shall be integrated and be made consistent with the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Plan, and the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Plan.
