Meeting today, March 10, 2025, at her office, as she shared on what had transpired during their last week’s 2026-2028 plan and budget proposal (PBP) presentation
Director Enriquez, said that the PBP presentation this year was quite different from the previous years’ presentations, as this is based on transformative budgeting. The 3-year PBP underwent a first and second round of national reviews held in Pampanga and Manila, respectively which she defended the region’s PBP and that another presentation defense will be done next week.
For this, she again reiterated the banner programs to review and do analysis on the plan proposals. She reminded them to look into the commodities where the municipalities, province and the region will have competitive and comparative advantage.
She cited that for Cebu, yellow corn will be produced in the northern portion, while white corn, being a food staple of Cebuanos, be at southern part.
Cebu is known to be a corn eating province, thus white corn is being considered.
In addition, under high value crops to include mango, yam and vegetables (upland/lowland) as priority crops, while on livestock and poultry, are those animals where the region excel in production. Also presented were the status of the 1st quarter Budget Execution Document 1&3 (BEDs1&3).
