Some sixty (60) personnel of the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas who will serve as property officers and custodians in their respective area of assignments, attended a two-day orientation held on February 20-21, 2025 in Mandaue City.
The activity aimed to assess and review the inventory process flow, ensuring efficiency and compliance with standard procedures.
In his welcome remarks, Dr. Melquiades Ibarra, DA7’s Admin and Finance Division (AFD) Chief, emphasized the importance of incorporating feedback and suggestions to improve the inventory system. He stressed that addressing gray areas in the process would lead to a more efficient and standardized system.
“This will take time, but we will eventually refine the process,” he assured participants.
Mark Rey Paguray, DA7 Accountant, highlighted the main objectives of the activity—to develop a structured and effective inventory system for the office and for the participants to gain a better understanding of property management protocols, contributing to a more organized and transparent inventory process within DA7.
The orientation covered topics to include required documentation after the delivery of goods, standard Manual of Operations, inventory forms and procedures, property inventory planning, and some issues, concerns, and observations.
