The Department of Agriculture in Central Visayas (DA7) launched a three-day event, Kadiwa ng Pangulo cum Tabo sa DA, held at the APC Grounds in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on May 21–23, 2025.
This initiative is in celebration of the Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Month, with the theme “Makabagong Magsasaka’t Mangingisda, Susi sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas” to honor the critical role of farmers and fisherfolk in nation-building and ensuring food security.
The celebration featured produce and products of farmers cooperatives and associations (FCAs) from the two Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) groups and from the Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) from several local government units across Bohol.
DA7 Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez, in her message, expressed gratitude to the various FCAs, farmers and fishers for joining the KNP.
“The month of May is dedicated to our farmers. With this year’s theme, and through this KNP, we are providing our farmers an opportunity to sell their products directly to the consumers We hope that through this platform, they will be able to sell out and feel our genuine support,” she said.
Director Enriquez shared and made clarification that the Php 20 rice per kilo is produced by the local rice farmers—another milestone in promoting affordable and accessible food for all.

To keep the day productive, Director Enriquez also extended her support to DA7’s ongoing efforts under the Organic Agriculture Program (OAP) and the National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NuPAP), emphasizing the Department’s role in providing technical assistance, capability building, and livelihood development. She acknowledged the ongoing vegetable production training conducted on the same day under the NUPAP, highlighting its importance in promoting sustainable, homegrown food sources in urban and peri-urban areas.
