The Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) celebrated three month of July today, July 14, 2025 at their office in Maguikay, Mandaue City by unveiling of the celebratory tarpaulin and conducting earthquake drill.
Month of July’s celebrants are Nutrition, Philippine Agriculturist and National Disaster Resilience.
With the message of DA7 Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez, he means that “no one should be left behind” in terms of food.
In addition to the fact that nutrition always comes first in the household, wherein she shared that if every house has onion leaves, basil, tomatoes and other ingredients of tinuwa (tinola), there is no need to buy ingredients in mercado, just pick your own garden.
He also mentioned the P20 rice where it greatly helps those in need such as the “vulnerable sectors”, and these rice from the reach of local farmers.
Director Enriquez, added another celebration of the Philippine Agriculturist Month wherein a law professionalized by licensed agriculturists, while implementing the Implementing Rules and Regulation (IRR).

  

Director Enriquez emphasizes the importance of disaster preparedness, sharing his experience of the earthquake when he was previously assigned. She encourages gma staff to share what they have learned on earthquake frill is very important that everyone knows what to do during disasters.
DA7 Regional Technical Director Cirilo Namoc said the poverty incidence percentage should be reduced, based on their discussion during a meeting with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) or DEPDev (NEDA’s new name).
He knows that the DA’s role is important because it is the agency that develops the agriculture sector, that food is not expensive, and is always there for the Filipino brotherhood.
In the earthquake drill hosted by the Cebu Accelerated Lifesavers League (CALL), the staff were taught the safety protocol when there is an earthquake called duck, cover and hold.
An earthquake simulation was conducted wherein some staffs were assigned as marshalls and responders and there were injured or victims of the earthquake.
