“Agriculture is the way to address poverty, that food security is my priority.”

This was the gist and parting statement of Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro, in today’s meeting with the executives of the Department of Agriculture (DA) family in Central Visayas.

The DA7 presented to the Governor some concerns, to include the economically important animal diseases and transboundary diseases, as well as the agri situationer and programs, as she listened intently.

With the presentation, she pronounced the commitment of support to the DA, knowing that agriculture is very important.

DA7 Regional Director Angel C. Enriquez, expressed gratitude for giving DA the chance to meet her and share the province’s agri situationer as well as the plans and programs.

In addition, Director Enriquez shared to develop and expand production of agri commodities with competitive advantage, citing mangoes, livestock and poultry, as well as coconut and fisheries.
