IN PHOTOS | Agricultural projects implemented by the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas under the High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) and National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP) were monitored and evaluated for its functionality and sustainability. Staff from the DA7sā€™ Provincial Agricultural Technology Coordinating Office (PATO) for Cebu and NUPAP visited the project areas in Dumanjug, Carcar Cty, Naga City, Minglanilla, Talisay Cty, Danao, and Consolacion to evaluate and assess the current status of the implemented projects like infrastructures, agri machineries and production support facilities. In an interview with the farmer beneficiaries, they shared the benefits of the urban gardens, not only reduces their daily food expenses but also promotes access to fresh and nutritious vegetables. Currently, their main concern now is the water scarcity brought about by El Nino, which is already affecting their gardens and farms.
