The KADIWA ng Pangulo (KNP) made its way to the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Headquarters today, April 4, 2025, marking the first collaboration with the Department of Agriculture in the region (DA7).
The KNP showcased fresh farm produce such as fruits and vegetables, which were directly sourced from the six farmer cooperative and associations (FCAs), with a total sales reaching ₱55,187.00.
PRO7 Regional Director, PBGen. Redrico A. Maranan, in his message addressed to the attendees, shared their commitment as law enforcement, that they will help and assist to ensure both security and accessibility of essential goods are enforced, saying, “we assure the public that the team remains steadfast in its duty, ensuring safety at every KNP site. By embracing this initiative, we aim to provide every officer and their families access to affordable necessities, fostering a stronger and more self-sufficient community.”
He highlighted the goals of the KNP, which is to empower the farmers by allowing them to sell their produce directly to consumers, cutting the layers of trading and ensuring better prices for both producers and consumers.
Maranan also stressed the importance of the ongoing collaboration among government agencies, private sector, and the community, stating that “its success depends on this continued partnership.”
DA7 Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations Dr. Wilberto Castillo, expressed his gratitude for the collaborative effort to launch the KNP within the police facility. He encouraged the consumers to support our local farmers, urging them not to bargain excessively on prices, as he says “Ayaw hangyua ang atong mga farmers, as I quote this from our Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez.”
