To provide farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) and agri-entrepreneurs with access to credit, a team from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) visited the office of the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas in Mandaue City, yesterday, May 13, 2024.

DBP’s visit to Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enqiuez was to explore possibilities and ways to enhance loan opportunities for the FCAs and farmer-entrepreneurs based on the Value Chain System, which is being implemented by the Philippine Rural Development Project’s (PRDP).

VCA is a scientific tool of innovation introduced by PRDP in the implementation of the subprojects.

By incorporating the VCA into the DBPs strategies, a customized financial solutions aligned to the identified commodities and by-products are offered, ensuring of government resources are efficiently implemented.

Anchored on the VCA, the FCAs and agripreneurs will be guided to run their business.

Director Enriquez, express her gratitude to DBM about the collaboration, as she highlighted the importance of partnerships in achieving agricultural development.

Part of the commitment was to conduct a study or feasibility on the proposed loan opportunities, that will benefit the farmer-entrepreneurs.
