The Local Government of Jagna in the Province of Bohol, took the center stage today, April 4, 2025, with the capsule laying and groundbreaking of the Jagna Integrated Potable Water System (PWS), funded under the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Scale Up.
The project, with a budget cost of ₱244,042,875.80 will serve 30 barangays of Jagna, namely, Alejawan, Balili, Boctol, Bunga-Ilaya, Bunga Mar, Cabungaan, Cambugason, Can-ipol, Canjulao, Cantagay, Cantuyoc, Can-uba, Can-upao, Faraon, Iapil, Kinagbaan, Laca, Larapan, Lonoy, Looc, Malbog, Naatang, Nausok, Pagina, Pangdan, Poblacion, Tejero, Tubod Mar, and Tubod Monte.

DA7 Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez congratulated the municipality for the approval of the PWS project under PRDP.
“Na appreciate jud nako nga 30 ka barangays ug 5,929 households ang maserbisyohan aning atong project. Ang pinakaimportante jud, that finally, kay in this part of the country, nasolbad na ang problema sa tubig. Nindot na siya panumduman nga once in our lifetime, we’re able to have a change, finally, after 100 years.”

She also shared that the municipality will be visited by DA Sec. Francisco Tiu Laurel .
With the PWS, it will serve around 5,929 households, benefiting approximately 28,770 residents, including 1,414 farming households and 45 fishing households.
Jagna Mayor Joseph A. Rañola gave the background and rationale of the project, that the main problem of the municipality is the availability of potable water. He’s very grateful to DA-PRDP, finally the proposed PWS project was approved, of which the Jagnaaon will benefit and be able to uplift the living conditions of the said municipality.
The project aims to provide a reliable potable water supply to the municipality, reduce the time spent in fetching water, improve health and living conditions of the constituents, and reduce water-related illnesses. With the completion of the project, it will provide a 24/7 water supply.
The groundbreaking ceremony was also attended by Municipal Vice Mayor Teofisto Pagar Jr., barangay officials, the project contractor, and the LGU employees.
