In a courtesy visit to the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) today, May 13, 2024, personnel from the DA – Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) presented their project to Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez, entitled “Mapping of High Value Crops (HVC) Production Areas,” which supports the HVCDP Act of 1995 (RA 7900), that promotes the production, processing, marketing, and distribution of high-value crops.

The project which covers the 16 regions, the BSWM personnel will be gathering data at the municipal/city level. Gathered data will help map out the HVCDP areas, providing information on the production area of high value commodities. Secondary data will also be collected.

The team will proceed to map the areas in Cebu on May 16, while in Bohol on May 21.

Negros Oriental and Siquijor has already conducted their mapping.
