Some 125 vegetable farmers from the nine farmers’ associations (FA) in Bogo City, Cebu attended the field day and graduation ceremony held on March 11, 2025 in Bogo City, Cebu, as culmination of the season-long farmer field school (FFS) on vegetable production technology training.
Organized by Bogo City Agriculture Office, these farmer-participants completed the season-long FFS, which started last November 19, 2024 and will end on March 19, 2025.

Among the nine participating farmers’ associations, include Kahugpungan sa mga Mag-uumang Makugihon (KMM), Anonang Sur, Cayang Sur A, Makugihon Katawhan sa Dita Association (MaKDA), FFS Guadalupe, BOGO Farmers Scientist Association (BOFASA), Dakit FFS, Maihao Cogon, and Sitio Combado FFS.
Established community gardens showcased adopted technolgies.

Ediosita T. Wagas, City Agriculturist commended the farmer-graduates for completing the 16-week season-long training. She emphasized the importance of applying their learnings, going beyond the classroom, urging them to maintain their determination in farming.
Ceasarivi Niño Gascon, a staff from the region’s National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program Coordinator (NUPAP), on behalf of the Department of Agriculture (DA7) encouraged the farmers to continue their farming endeavors.

Reynaldo T. Ancero, President of MaKDA, shared his insights on the training, saying “In the past, we followed the traditional planting methods, but now, thanks to our training (FFS), we’ve seen significant improvements. The results were remarkable, as our harvests were much greater than before,” Ancero said.
He will re-echo and share his gained knowledge and skills to his neighbors, adding “Karun nga migradwar nako, ako ni ipa-ambit sa akong mga silingan ug sundon ang modernong pamaagi.”
