Thousands of rice farmers from Batuan, Bohol were able to claim their Fertilizer Discount Vouchers (FDV) from the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7), during the distribution roll-out of FDV, held this week in the said municipality.
Funded under the Rice Program, the three-day roll-out benefited some 1,276 rice farmers who received inorganic (complete/14-14-14), fertilizer worth Php 2,601,034.00, while 1,388 rice farmers benefited the bio-fertilizer amounting Php 1,207,042.50, and some 1,374 received soil ameliorants (fermented chicken dung) worth Php 805,555.00.
These interventions are support to the farmers in their farm input needs, to cope up with the high cost of fertilizers. This will also help our farmers increase their yield per hectare and lower their production cost.
Facilitating the distribution of discount vouchers were personnel of DA7’s in Bohol though the Provincial Agricultural Technology Coordinating Officer (DA7- PATCO-Bohol.
These rice farmer were also beneficiaries of the hybrid rice seeds for the dry season cropping 2024-2025 and the financial assistance through the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA).
As part of the requirements, rice farmers must be duly registered to the Registry System for the Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and must be a member of a farmer cooperatives and associations to receive the assistance.
