Department of Agriculture (DA) Assistant Secretary for High Value Crop Development Program (DA-HVCDP), Atty. Joycel Panlilio graced the Local Farm Family Congress of Tanjay City, Negros Oriental today, March 26, 2025.
The family congress gathered the farmers, fisherfolk and rural-based organizations (RBOs) of the city, as they showcased their agri and fishery products, as well as skills and talents in various competitions such as booth making, cooking, handicrafts, poster making, quiz bee and extemporaneous speaking, among others.
The congress was also an avenue to develop the knowledge and skills of the farmers and fishers.
Agri-fishery products displayed were fresh vegetables, fruits, rootcrops, fish, seedlings, processed foods and rice sold at P29 per kilo.
In her message, Asec. Panlilio shared the O kilometer food project. Panlilio furthered.
Meanwhile, she met the farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) and had a short dialogue with regard to their issues and concern as a group.
