Farmers from Pilar, Bohol received their fertilizer discount vouchers (FDV) for the inorganic fertilizers, soil ameliorants and bio-fertilizers, as part of the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) support to boost agricultural productivity of the rice farmers.

Some 2,928 rice farmers received inorganic fertilizers amounting to Php 9,333,710.26; while 2,864 rice beneficiaries received soil ameliorants amounting to P 2,674,243.50. On biofert, 2,222 rice farmers with an amounting of Php3,283,418.85.

Qualified rice farmer beneficiaries were duly registered to the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA). This determines the amount of fertilizers to be subsidized based on farm size.

In an interview, Mapacsalan Modesto B. Tagaro Jr., president of the Cove Irrigators Association, expressed his gratitude to the government for their continued support lsaying “as the association’s president, we’re very thankful for the assistance and support received which was a big help to our family, in addition to the rice farmers financial assistance (RFFA) in the amount of P5,000.
He also encouraged other farmers to register in the RSBSA through their respective Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO).
