DA7 Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez and Regional Technical Director for Operations Engr. Cirilo N. Namoc, together with the head officials from other government agencies convened in Bohol for the meeting, presided by Governor Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado, who is also the chairperson of the RDC.
The Governor, in his address, highlighted Central Visayas’ continued economic growth, reporting that the region had once again earned the distinction of being the fastest-growing economy in the Philippines for the second consecutive year.
A key contributor is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (AFF) sector, which recorded a 5.4% growth and remained a dominant force in the regional economy. The successful implementation of the Central Visayas Agriculture Strategic Development Plan, supported by harmonized efforts among stakeholders, was recognized as instrumental in achieving these gains.
The RDC meeting also served as a transition period of discussion, focusing on the 2025–2028 Development Plan. One of the key agenda items was the transition towards the formation of “SugBohol” (the dynamic duo of Cebu and Bohol.) set to be formalized by 2026. This transition includes the official separation of Siquijor and Negros Oriental, in accordance with Senate Bill No. 812.
