Some men and women farmers as well as farmers cooperative and associations (FCAs) were recognized for their hardwork and dedication in their chosen field of endeavor, during the Gawad Parangal: Regional Outstanding Agricultural Achievers (OAA) held yesterday, May 29, 2025 at Golden Prince Hotel, in Cebu City.
Receiving the recognition were awardees from the various search bodies conducted in 2024 and 2025 to include the Gawad Saka (2024-2025), Rural Women (2024), Livestock farmers (2025) and the Provincial and Municipal/City Artificial Insemination Coordinators (2025), as well as the FCAs who have successfully registered in the Farmers and Fisherfolk Enterprise Development Information System (FFEDIS).
DA7 Regional Executive Director in her keynote address, gave pride and honor as she congratulated the awardees for their hardwork and perseverance. She acknowledged the 3 Gawad Saka regional nominees who were finalists in the national level and were recognized last May 26, 2025 in Manila, with no less than the presence of the Secretary Francisco P. Tiu-Laurel Jr.
DA7 Regional Technical Director Cirilo Namoc, expressed his gratitude to the men and women of the DA, Local Government Units (LGUs) and the private sector, who in one way or another help in the development of the agri sector.
“We at DA are implementing various programs, projects and activities to help our farmers and fishers increase their production and income”, Director Namoc said.
Farmer Regional Executive Director and Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Council (RAFC) Chairperson, in her message, with great pride acknowledged the men and women of the agri and fishery sector.
She requested all the farmers and fishers to stand up and recite the pledge of commitment to continue farming and fishing for the society or whole nation to have food while preserving the environment.
