Young agripreneurs in Central Visayas (CV), who joined in the 2024 Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) were recognized today, May 20, 2025 during the YFC Regional Awarding Ceremony held at a venue in Cebu City.
Of the 33 youths who applied in the YFC Program, pitching their business model canvass (BMC) on agricultural production and processing to the panel of judges, 29 of them were recognized as provincial level awardees, receiving a cash of Php 80,000.00.

   

Out of these 29, fourteen (14) qualified for regional evaluation, of which, seven (7) were declared regional awardees, receiving Php 150,000.00 for their enhanced agri-based projects.
In addition, 1 YFC intercollegiate category and 2 YFC Upscale Category were also awarded, receiving Php 250,000.00 and Php 300,000.00, respectively.
In her message, Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez, shared the declining average age of farmers, now at 54 years old. She acknowledged the brainchild of the YFC program, who is Senator Imee Marcos, as very good, as this will entice the youth to engage in the field of agriculture entreprenuerships.
She encouraged the youth to help advocate about agriculture, that there is money in farming.
