Some 1,300 rice farmers from the 11 barangays of Ubay, Bohol benefitted from the two-day distribution of agricultural inputs conducted by the Department of Agriculture in Central Visayas (DA7).

The activity was held inside the covered court in Barangay Imelda, Ubay, Bohol, of which rice farmers from the barangays of Pag-asa, Los Angeles, Poblacion, San Francisco, Ilihan, Tubog, San Vicente, San Isidro, Tapal, Tapon, Tintinan and Imelda received their vouchers for them claim the complete (14-14-14) fertilizers and soil ameliorants.
Total distributed fertilizers amounted to ₱1,808,958.96, of which ₱1,519,350.86 for the complete fertilizers and ₱289,608.10 for soil-ameliorants.
Venus Daigan, a 39-year-old rice farmer from San Vicente, Ubay, Bohol, expressed her gratitude for the intervention she received and shared a fraction of the many impactful ways it has changed her life.

She said, “sa 19 nako ka tuig nga pagpanguma, katulo nako nakadawat og libre nga abuno gikan sa Department of Agriculture. Daghang kaayong salamat!”

(In my 19 years of farming, I’ve received free fertilizer from the Department of Agriculture three times. For me, this has been a huge help in our farming. Before we had this kind of support, we were often forced to take out loans just to buy fertilizer. Whatever harvest we had would mostly go to paying off those debts. Now that we’ve received free fertilizer from the DA, things have changed a lot. We no longer need to borrow money just to fertilize our rice fields. When harvest time comes, we get to keep the full profit—everything is ours—thanks to the help from the free fertilizer provided by the DA. We’re incredibly grateful!)
