The Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) conducted a two-day Farm Record Keeping training attended by 21 farmers from the five (5) farmers’ associations of the Adaptation and Mitigation Initiatives in Agriculture (AMIA) Villages in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, on March 24-25, 2025.
Participating AMIA Villages were the Taming Agrarian Reform Community Farmers Association Incorporation (TARCFAI) in Danao, Buenos Aires Farmers Association (BAFA) in Carmen, and from Mabini were Paraiso Pagtinabangay Farmers Association (PPFA), Ilaya Binog-Hanungan (Ilabihan) Farmers Association, and Paraiso Mabini Farmers and Small Water Irrigators Association (PMFSWIA).
Resource speaker, Dr. Maria Wencisa Egama discussed the topics on the importance of farm records and accounts, qualities of a good record system, and the data to be recorded. She also presented the recording of income and expenses, basic financial terms for every farmer should know, tracking farm assets and liabilities, farm inventory management, and managing farm debt and loans through good farm record-keeping.
She encouraged them (farmers) to formulate their simple farm plan and budget.
Emily Rapada, the president of PMFSWIA expressed her gratitude to the learnings they gained from the training,
