Agricultural extension workers (AEWs) from the various municipalities of Cebu who also act as report officers of the different banner program commodities on rice, corn, high value crops and livestock underwent a two-day Orientation and Training Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Information System (DDRMIS) today until tomorrow, June 13-14, 2024 at a venue in Cebu City.
 
Some 80 participants attended the workshop to familiarize them on the different features of the DRRMIS platform to synchronize the reporting system and the timely submission of report, as well harmonize the reporting of the damage and losses during calamities and disaster.
 
DA7 OIC Regional Executive Director, in his message said, there is a need to train the AEWs on the importance of data gathering and collection to have a very reliable and accurate data. He said, there is a need to provide quick data when calamities or disasters strike.
 
“’I’m looking forward of a convergence between the DA and LGUs for us to obtain a quick data. With the forecast that we will be experiencing La Nina, there will be plenty of damages on crops and livestock”, he said.
