IN PHOTOS | The Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) and the Lapu-lapu City Government conducted a Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) today, April 18, 2024 to celebrate the Filipino Food Month (FFM), with the theme “Kalutong Filipino, Lakas ng Kabataang Makabago.”

Lapu-lapu City Mayor Junard Ahong Chan, Vice Mayor Celedonio Sitoy, Councilor Annabeth Cuizon, and DA7’s Admin and Finance chief Melquiades Ibarra led the ribbon cutting to officially open the KNP.

Some 33 exhibitors participated in the KNP displaying various products such as fresh vegetables and fruits, fish, and different processed foods and by-products at a very affordable prices.

“This KNP is one of the initiatives of President Bongbong Marcos that aims to provide available, accessible, and affordable food to the consumers,” said Jennie Evardo, Agriculturist II of DA7’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division.

Melodina Esconde of Pestales Cooperative from Argao, Cebu said, they are bringing their produce and products through the KNP. We are very much grateful to the Department of Agriculture for their continuous support”, she said.

Aside from the farm products display, a cooking demonstration of local food products such as the famous Budbod Kabog of Catmon, Tihi-tihi sisig demo by the Lapulapu CSWDO, and the Mushroom Chicharon of Cebu Province Mushroom Growers Agriculture Cooperative, held in same venue.

The KNP is located beside Lapu-lapu City Hall which will be run from April 18-19, 2024 from 8:00am-5pm.
