Enriquez welcomed the University of the Philippines – Cebu Mango Automated Neuralnet Generic Grade Assignor (MANGGA) project team led by Dr. Jonnifer Sinogaya during their visit to the office today (April 18, 2024).
Director Enriquez was joined by Regional Technical Directors Wilberto O. Castillo and Cirilo N. Namoc, and High Value Crops Development Program Coordinator John Dennis R. Ranario, as they (MANGGA) share their project and the progress of their technology development.
Their visit today was to personally thank the agency for the assistance provided for their study, and to present their new project proposal entitled MANGO-ASENSO.
The DA7 is very interested with their study and advises them to proceed with their project.
Representing the MANGGA project team during the discussion, aside from Dr. Sinogaya, were Engr. Ritchie Malinao, Engr. Ladlennon Banuag, Ms. Teresa Claire Alicaba and Ms. Glory Ann Jotea.
Last year, the MANGGA project team visited DA-7 for a consultation of their project, that will help improve the performance of the mango fruit grading by developing an automated system for quality assessment.
