IN PHOTOS | To uplift the economic condition in the Central Visayas region, a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) was inked today, April 8, by the different partnered national government agencies and its attached agencies to name a few, with the lead convenor, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and state universities and colleges (SUCs), as well as the private higher education institutions (HEIs), at a venue in Cebu City.

Through the mutual cooperation of the stakeholders, this MOA signing aimed to provide capacity building, harmonize agriculture-related livelihood interventions, and partnership projects to improve the socio-economic status of the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries to sustain and alleviate their livelihood activities.

In addition, the SLP which is a program of DSWD also outlined various initiatives on community extension programs in the academe centered on facilitating learning opportunities in financial and livelihood opportunities.

Present at the MOA signing were Dr. Melquiades B. Ibarra, the DA7 Chief of Admin and Finance Division, on behalf of Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez, Regional Director of DSWD7, Dir. Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, Regional Directors from different NGAs and their attached agencies, and representatives from SUCs and private HEIs.
