IN PHOTOS | The Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development Program in Central Visayas (DA7 SAAD) distributed recently some 19 heads of carabaos for the three (3) farmers’ associations (FAs) from the 3 municipalities of Bohol province.

These carabaos, worth P 836,000 were funded under the SAAD’s FY 2024 livelihood projects.

The distribution was led by DA7’s Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) Bohol Roman Dabalos, of which eight (😎caraheifers were given to the Association of Cagawitan Farmers from Barangay Cagawitan while three (3) caraheifers were distributed to Villa Aurora Farmers Association from Barangay Villa Aurora in Dagohoy, Bohol.

For the Behind the Clouds Farmers Association in Batuan, Bohol, they received eight (😎 caraheifers.

Beneficiary-farmers will no longer hire or rent draft animals for their farm operations, reducing their farm production costs by at least 20% per cropping season. In addition, once the carabaos reach the minimum weight and ready to be sold, a 50:50 sharing scheme will be applied, of which 50% will be given to the association and the other 50% will be given to the farmer.
